What is Kybella?

Kybella’s main ingredient is a manufactured version of deoxycholic acid, a bile acid naturally found in our digestive system that breaks down fat and helps with fat absorption.

Deoxycholic acid attacks the fat cell membrane, the protective layer of the cell, dissolves subcutaneous fat, and causes lysis, or cell death. The dead cells are then washed away and metabolized. How does Kybella work?
