Kybella Rhode Island

Your Kybella Questions Answered

Kybella is an under-chin contouring injection process that provides a long-term solution to the “double chin” and is a welcome alternative to surgical procedures.

There are areas of the body and face that are difficult to alter without some professional assistance, and under the chin is one of those trouble spots. At Simply Injectables in Rhode Island, we can target the submental region, also known as the “double chin,” with a safe, non-surgical procedure called Kybella.

You can be strict with your diet and work out with great overall results yet still have a stubborn wobble under your chin, usually due to genetics or age. Because the submental region has an impactful effect on your appearance and can be tough to change, patients might feel that liposuction or other surgeries are the only options for permanent results.

Now there’s Kybella, the only FDA-approved injection used to destroy fat cells that create the “double chin.” Our professionals at Simply Injectables Providence can safely administer your Kybella treatment, leaving you with long-lasting, youthful, and impactful results for that under-chin region.

What is Kybella?

Kybella’s main ingredient is a manufactured version of deoxycholic acid, a bile acid naturally found in our digestive system that breaks down fat and helps with fat absorption.

Deoxycholic acid attacks the fat cell membrane, the protective layer of the cell, dissolves subcutaneous fat, and causes lysis, or cell death. The dead cells are then washed away and metabolized. This is not a new phenomenon – the human body, as well as ox, sheep, goats, dogs, and rabbits have always produced and used deoxycholic acid.

Kybella was approved by the FDA in April 2015 and has been effective for both men and women.

How does Kybella work?

When Kybella is injected into the submental region, it targets and dissolves the fat cells in that area. Once dissolved, the fat cells do not regenerate because they have been permanently dissolved. Your double chin will not reappear.

Your Rhode Island Kybella appointment

Our professionals will examine your chin area, discuss the effects Kybella can have on your appearance and what to expect from the procedure.

Our professionals inject Kybella into the fat beneath your chin. Kybella injections may sting, so we will make you as comfortable as possible. One appointment lasts approximately 20-30 minutes.

For the best results, patients usually need from 4-6 treatments but start seeing a noticeable change after 2-3 appointments. After a six-month period of seeing us for Kybella, you’ll be approaching maximum and permanent results.

The benefit of non-surgical procedure is that you can go right home after the procedure. You are likely to experience some swelling and/or bruising that can be treated with over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication and icepack applications.

You shouldn’t have Kybella injections if you are allergic to deoxycholic acid. Please follow the guidance from Kybella for important safety information.

What other areas can Kybella be used for?

The FDA has approved Kybella for use under the chin, but studies are ongoing to test results of safely using Kybella for under-arm bulges, love handles and even the buttocks.
