Your Guide to Dermal Fillers in Rhode Island
Dermal fillers are an effective, minimally invasive, and relatively quick way to brighten your appearance. Results are subtle as they minimize fine lines and bring back fullness that we lose over time.
All six of the dermal fillers we carry at Simply Injectables are made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar that occurs naturally in our bodies. Because a hyaluronic molecule attracts 1,000 times its weight in water, it’s known as nature’s best hydration. The dermal filler we use to plump and hydrate the skin is formulated to bring plumpness and firmness. In addition, these fillers also contain added lidocaine to help with any discomfort you might experience with injections.
There are several fillers available and we’re here to help you choose the one that will give you the results you want. The six products we use are described here and of course we’re available to answer any questions you have.
Juvéderm Volbella
Syringe size: 0.55ml
Duration: 6-8 months
Cost: $400
Uses: lips, vertical lip lines
We refer to this product as simply Volbella. Its name rolls off the tongue just as effortlessly as this product rolls out of the syringe. Out of all the dermal fillers, Volbella is the thinnest and most viscous making it the choice for soft delicate areas. Volbella is soft, light, and subtle. It has a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid and therefore has less swelling and a lower juiciness factor. The only lip filler that can go undetected. I say this knowing that would be a serious plus for some and a waste of time for others. Volbella can refine the shape of lips. It defines the borders. It creates a lip lining effect. You’ll be waking up looking like you’ve just discovered the most effective Sephora lip plumper.
This product is also the gold standard for vertical lip lines. The perfect choice for person starting to notice subtle signs of aging -lip thinning, lip inversion and vertical lip lines.
Juvéderm Ultra XC
Syringe size: 1.0ml
Duration: 10-12 months
Cost: $500
Uses: lips, nasal labial folds (smile lines), marionette (lines from mouth to chin), chin, jaw
We refer to this product as Juvéderm. Juvéderm is for you if you want longer-lasting, fuller lips or are looking to smooth nasal labial folds or marionette lines from your mouth to your jaw.
If you get Juvederm in your lips, there is initial swelling, but once this subsides, you’re left with natural, pouty, and hydrated results. Juvéderm is great for lips because its structural composition is slightly tighter than the other two choices which are best for shaping. With Juvederm, you’ll feel an unequaled level of hydration.
We also use Juvederm for smile lines (nasal labial folds), the down turning of the mouth (marionette) and sometimes for sharpening the jaw and chin when the volume deficit or degree of needed correction is small.
Juvederm results are subtle, and friends will be hard for acquaintances to detect.
Juvéderm Ultra Plus
Syringe size: 1.0ml
Duration: 10-12 months
Cost: $500
Uses: lips, nasal labial folds, marionette, chin, jaw
We refer to this product as Ultra Plus, which is more viscous than Juvéderm Ultra XC but has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid. Ultra Plus is for clients who want that juice because the pillow factor is at its max capacity with this filler. If you’re looking for a full bodied, pillowy pout this one’s for you.
We use Ultra Plus more often than Juvéderm for nasal labial folds, marionette, chin, and jawline because these areas usually have a big need for volume rejuvenation. Ultra Plus tends to give you more bang for your buck.
Juvéderm Vollure
Syringe size: 1.0ml
Duration: 18 months
Cost: $600
Uses: Jaw, midface
Vollure is a happy medium between Juvéderm Ultra Plus and Voluma. It’s longer lasting, firmer, and less forgiving than a Juvéderm but more flexible and less structural than Voluma. We use Vollure for deep smile lines in the midface and for jawline contouring. Our goal with Vollure is to create smoother and tighter skin while replacing facial volume to restore youth.
Juvéderm Voluma
Syringe size: 1.0ml
Duration: 24 months
Cost: $700
Uses: cheeks and midfac
Voluma consists of the thickest and strongest gel of all the dermal fillers so we use it for cheeks that need a lift and volume boost from underneath the tissue. Voluma works beautifully for people of almost all ages, bringing health, youth, and glow to someone’s face. At its most dramatic, results will bring a softness to nasal labial folds, contour the face, smooth skin texture, and provide lift – the big three symptoms of aging! Voluma is hard to hate.
Restylane
Syringe size: 1.0ml
Duration: 12-18 months
Cost: $600
Uses: undereye
Restylane was the first dermal filler to be approved by the FDA in 2003 but has been used since 1996. At Simply Injectables use Restylane for the under-eye or tear trough area.
The skin under the eye is extremely thin. Some dermal fillers have been found to produce a Tyndall Effect – or a bluish hue where the filler was placed. With Restylane, we’ve seen almost no cases of the Tyndall Effect. It is soft and viscous like Volbella but is our only pick for the most delicate eye area. Restylane will have you looking well rested and bright.
